My theory...

Is that my Dad had a thing for my Mom's ass. Every photo he took of her when we went camping look pretty much like these two photos.

Mary Travers, 1936-2009

How many roads must a man walk down
Before they call him a man?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
How many times must the cannonballs fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind.
How many years must a mountain exist
Before it is washed to the sea?
How many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
How many times can a man turn his head
and pretend that he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind.
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
How many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
How many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind.
The answer is blowing in the wind.

funny story behind this photo...

I'd once read a book on Witch gardening (don't ask) and it said if you find a circle of mushrooms don't disturb it because fairies were living among them. I found a cicrle of mushrooms in my yard and thought I'd take another photo in sepia to go along with the one of the wishing well. So as soon as I kneel down to take the photo, Remus Lupin decided to play Godzilla and destroy the homes of the fairy folk. Remus Lupin seemed quite pleased with himself. I guess now this photo exists for insurance purposes.
P.S. More old family snapshots to come.

sisters

This is a photo of my Mom and my Aunt Cathy (She's the one in sunglasses). They look thick as thieves. I'd love to know what was said or done just before the photo was taken. Someone managed to get a reaction that I find to be hilarious and endearing.
