How many roads must a man walk down
Before they call him a man?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
How many times must the cannonballs fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind.
How many years must a mountain exist
Before it is washed to the sea?
How many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
How many times can a man turn his head
and pretend that he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind.
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
How many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
How many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind.
The answer is blowing in the wind.
Before they call him a man?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
How many times must the cannonballs fly

funny story behind this photo...
I'd once read a book on Witch gardening (don't ask) and it said if you find a circle of mushrooms don't disturb it because fairies were living among them. I found a cicrle of mushrooms in my yard and thought I'd take another photo in sepia to go along with the one of the wishing well. So as soon as I kneel down to take the photo, Remus Lupin decided to play Godzilla and destroy the homes of the fairy folk. Remus Lupin seemed quite pleased with himself. I guess now this photo exists for insurance purposes.
P.S. More old family snapshots to come.

i get it, they were going for that whole "retro" look...
Actually, these are photos of my Mom and Grandma from back in the day that my sister (Gigi) scanned. I love Polaroids and I love the look of the photo of my Mom. I don't recall my family owning a Holga or Diana, but it looks like a lomo photo. I remember this really cool looking square camera, I think it was a Kodak...either way, enjoy these photos (and more to come).

I managed to surprise myself with this one...
The other day I found myself photographing fragments of sunshine in the late afternoon and this is one of the photos that came out of it all. When looking at this I thought that with the sepia tone it gives it an early 1900's sort of look and feel. I couldn't help but think of Lady Cottington's Pressed Fairies Book, I think that's the name of it...

and a song about nick drake
A Salvation Army Band played
And Children drunk lemonade
And the morning lasted all day, All day
And through an open window came
Like Sinatra in a younger day,
Pushing the town away
Ah-
(chant) Ah hey ma ma ma
Life in a northern town.
They sat on the stoney ground
And he took out a cigarette out
And everyone else came down
To listen.
He said "In winter 1963
It felt like the world would freeze
With John F. Kennedy And The Beatles."
(Chant) Ah- hey ma ma ma
Life in a northern town.
Ah hey ma ma ma
All the work shut down.
The evening had turned to rain
Watch the water roll down the drain,
As we followed him down
To the station
And though he never would wave goodbye,
You could see it written in his eyes
As the train pulled out of sight
Bye-bye
(Chant) Ah hey ma ma ma
Life in a northern town.
Ah hey ma ma ma
Life in a northern town.

making use of an older photos pt. 1
and one just for fun
Spring is sinking into our bones
Sudden rains have brought temptation
And contempt to our tongues
But on the other side of this dividing wall
There’s a never-ending feast and shoes with pearls
Their iron gates will rust
And out of this darkness we’ll run
So get up get out and fill the streets
Let’s dance in the ash of the big chimneys
I know it’s late but lead us there
We’ll meet our friends everywhere
So get up get out and come with me
We’ll sing from the branches of sweet gum trees
I know it’s late go with me there
We’ll meet our friends everywhere
Talk from the heart is heard on the lips
And soon the whispers will birth chaos in the courts of the rich
But one darkened night desperate crowds will show
Swollen like rivers with the winter snow
With our darlings on our arms
Into the gardens we’ll run
So get up get out and fill the streets
Let’s dance in the ash of the big chimneys
I know it’s late but lead us there
We’ll meet our friends everywhere
So get up get out and come with me
We’ll sing from the branches of sweet gum trees
I know it’s late go with me there
We’ll meet our friends everywhere
So get up get out
So get up get out
So get up get out
So get up get out
So get up get out
So get up get out
So get up get out
So get up get out
